There was a blind girl who hatedherself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her lovingboyfriend. He was always there for her.She said that if she could onlysee the world, she would marry herboyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair ofeyes to her. She could then seeeverything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "Now that youcan see the world, will you marry me?"The girl was shocked when she saw thather boyfriend was blind, too, andrefused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears.Later, the girl received a letter fromhim that said, "Just take care of myeyes please."
it just leaves me wondering.
are we all like that girl who takes things for granted?
when she couldn't see, she would say the sweetest things to her boyfriend.
but when she could see, she just chose to ignore everything he has done,
just because she could see.
she chose to see the exterior of him, which is he is blind.
then again, how often do we look at the exterior of people?
thinking they are what they look like?
does it mean someone having tatoos, outrageous coloured hair means he/she is like a gangster?
someone might seem tough and happy-go-lucky on the outside, means that they do not have their own ordeals and problems?
i wonder,
what would the girl think or feel after knowing that her boyf became blind because he donated his eyes to her?
do we choose to take things for granted and after being able to see things we've never seen or after our problems are solved, do we forget about the people who helped us during tha period of ordeal and trials?
come to think of it,
i often forget i have a God Almighty with me.
yes.
and i confess. i do take things for granted at times.
but after reading this touching story, i just hope the Lord will change me.
Lord,
teach me to not take things for granted.
Lord,
i just ask that you allow me to be humble before You.
Lord,
allow me to recognise that i am Your daughter.
Lord,
teach me to treasure the things and people around me.
Thank You Daddy! ((:
