HEY ALL! (:
today service was great! i wanted to go for altar call but i got intercession duty! :D its okay! i know that ultimately God loves me and i find significance in God and not friends!
FRIENDS AND RELATONSHIPS
i believe these 2 words have an impact in each of our lives. (: and today's sermon was about friendships and relationships. friendship is the foundation of relationships. take your mum and dad for e.g, before they were together, i believe they were friends. the foundation of their r/s is their friendship. (:
How can i be a TRUE FRIEND? (:
What are the characteristics of a TRUE FRIEND? (:
1. STEADFAST LOYALTY
how to be loyal to our friend in times of need?
a) HELP in times of need - Be there for your friend.
b) HONEST in correction - Speak the truth with love.
c) Protect when attacked - Stand by your friend.
want to elaborate on one point: HONEST IN CORRECTION.
friends are not those who sit there and watch you steal or do something wrong. we must learn to confront our friend about the wrong thing they did but confront them with LOVE. (:
TRUTHFULLNESS GOES TOGETHER WITH TENDERNESS.
you tell your friend the truth, that you think he should change his bad habit. but you tell it to him without affection, just screaming in his face, do you think he will listen or change?
you care for your friend, you love him/her, but when you see them do smth wrong, you sit there and do nothing. thats as good as ruining their lives. thus, both truth and love must work together. (:
2.SHARED VISION
it's always good to have a friend who shares the same vision as you. (: maybe both of you have smth in common like same interest, like the same sports, or even same enemies. LOL. and 2 cannot walk together unless they agree. so its impt for both parties to agree on smth before they can start to walk together and be true friends. (: However, stick with the right company because our life are easily influenced by people we mix with! :D
3. SELFLESS GIVING
being able to give selflessly is what a true friend really is ultimately about. giving and blessing without expecting anything in return. (:
Is there that ONE AND ONLY TRUE FRIEND who meets the above requirements?
One that is loyal and faithful?
One that shares the same vision as us, who knows exactly what are our desires and needs?
One who gives without caring about ownself?
YES THERE IS!
GOD'S ONE AND ONLY SON JESUS! (:
will you allow Him to be your TRUE FRIEND today? :D
